Photoshop World

Last week I had the opportunity to attend Photoshop World Boston. It was unreal! I have never learned as much in one week as I did there. I was able to attend classes with greats such as Scott Kelby, Rafael Concepcion, Katrin Eismann, Rick Sammon, Jack Davis, and Matt Kloskowski. It was almost unreal! They are truly great teachers. They spoke to people like me who know enough to be dangerous to professional photographers all on the same level. Plainly, simple, and made the world of photoshop and lightroom start to make sense. You walked out thinking, " WOW, I can do this." I came back with reference books that are beyond helpful. I have four classes of digital photography next year and a whole new approach in regard to how I am going to instruct them. I can't wait until next year!

YEAH US!!!!

We found out that three of our students made it into the Vigo County Student Show. Kelsey Wright was awarded first place in 2-D Mixed Media. Jessie Smith claimed third place in Photography. Tylynn Sanders received a spot in the photography category as well. I am so proud of these students. This was a tough competition and they did great.

Anticipation

My students can't wait for the day to end. Not because they are ready to be out of school. They are waiting for the results of an art show. We put 49 pieces of art up for jury into the 2009 Vigo County Art Show and find out this afternoon if any of them made it. There were 365 entries and they on select 65 for the show. This is the first year we have entered work, so even one piece would be great. I will let you know tomorrow how we do!
